Job Description and Responsibilities

Team Summary

Reporting to the Regional Risk Officer, the Payment Ecosystem Risk team is responsible for

  • driving holistic Ecosystem Risk Strategy and thought leadership in the risk and security space combatting card and non-card payments fraud, supporting the effectiveness of in-market Heads of Risk
  • ensuring robust Ecosystem Risk programs and controls across 1) Ecosystem Risk Programs, and 2) Ecosystem Data Security participants
  • enabling the growth of Commercial and Money Movement Solutions whilst safeguarding Visa and Visa’s payments ecosystem

What an AP CMS Risk Business Partner does at Visa

As a key pillar of the Payment Ecosystem Risk team, The AP CMS Risk Business Partner will report to the VP, Payment Ecosystem Risk and be a critical member of the AP Commercial and Money movement Solutions (CMS) function.

The Commercial and Money Movement Solutions (CMS) team is responsible for managing payment flows and solutions across i) commercial spend (Visa Commercial Solutions), ii) global money movement flows (Visa Direct, Currency Cloud and B2BConnect), and iii) government/public sector undertakings (Visa Government Solutions).

The AP CMS Risk Business Partner has a unique opportunity to enable growth in Visa APs CMS business whilst safeguarding Visa’s payments ecosystem. They are a critical member of the AP Risk team, and part of the AP Payment Ecosystem Risk Leadership Team as well as the AP CMS Leadership Team.

Key objectives are:

  • Represent Visa AP as a CMS Risk SME lead, working closely with AP CMS, Global CMS and AP Risk
  • Lead to create and/or fine tune AP CMS risk frameworks for acquired entities and new business solutions where applicable in AP (e.g. CurrencyCloud, BPSP)
  • Own the creation, implementation, and governance of appropriate risk controls for the acquired entities in collaboration with acquired entities’ risk and compliance teams, aligned with Visa’s risk management frameworks, and meet regulatory requirements where appropriate for Visa AP
  • Responsible to create or repurpose fit-for-business risk solutions from Visa’s risk capabilities and services in tandem with AP CMS and other internal stakeholders
  • Own and execute risk governance frameworks for AP CMS existing and new capabilities (e.g. RCSA, NBIA, Top Risks, Regulatory compliance) 
  • Drive to create the right fraud data analytics to understand and measure AP CMS Risks, develop nuanced remediation plans and controls to mitigate in line with Visa’s risk appetite
  • Grow and lead a diverse Risk team, fostering innovation, collaboration and operational excellence

Hence, the AP CMS Risk Business Partner plays a crucial role in ensuring that the expansion and operations of CMS are conducted in a secure and risk-managed manner.

Qualifications

What you will need

The ideal candidate is a seasoned risk leader (minimum 15 years) with extensive operational and leadership experience in non-card money movement and institutional banking. This role would be perfect for someone who thrives in a greenfield environment, enjoys close collaboration with a multitude of stakeholders, regionally, globally as well as cross functionally, and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves to deliver the best outcomes.

Relevant Industry Exposure

  • More than 15 years of experience in top tier financial services industry or payments network, focused on Transaction Banking, Cash Management, global money movements or the remittance business.
  • Ability to translate strategy into an internal and external narrative and to connect the dots between risk strategies, data driven insights, product development, business acumen, and operational execution
  • Hands-on operational and strategic experience of risk strategies and management that protect the ecosystem while enabling business innovation and growth

Exceptional Collaboration and Communication Skills

  • Proven ability to pro-actively influence and collaborate in matrix environment across all levels and functions of the business to deliver actionable insights that drive key business strategies and decisions
  • Builds strong relationships with clients and external industry stakeholders, driving collaboration for the benefit of a broader payments ecosystem
  • A self-starter with a proactive approach to problem solving and execution capable of independently identifying opportunities and driving initiatives from concept to implementation

Projects you will be a part of:

As the AP CMS Risk BP for Visa AP, you will be a critical member of the AP Risk Team and part of the AP CMS Leadership Team. You will be advising the AP Risk and AP CMS teams on strategies related to complex operational, financial, legal and regulatory risk exposures in the CMS space.

The delivery of these initiatives will require close collaboration with senior leadership in the region and with stakeholders in Global Risk, Account Executives, Rules, and Legal.
